Defensive hustle. Where is it now ? It wasn't just AI's phenomenal scoring but the entire team's attitude that I loved. Yeah they were smaller and lighter than most opposition but they had that fire and that passion that made Philly a tremendous hustling defense team, coupled with Big Deke in the middle. That's one reason I hated the Glenn Robinson trade. Van Horn was bad too on defense but Robinson's work ethic is plain appalling. He's sluggish and makes no effort whatsoever to stay with his man on the perimeter or use his size to chrash the boards.
So I say keep AI. The team has already invested in him too much to just throw him away now, but Big Dog has to go. If needs, they should leave him unprotected during the expansion draft so that Charlotte can pick him up. Kyle Korver is a great prospect because though he will never be a star, the Sixers can try and have his as their very own Steve Kerr. I thought from day 1 that he was a real steal in the draft. Quite obviously, the same goes for Willie Green, who also has to work on his point guard skills and decision making. We all know he can score and all he has to do now is improve on the other facets of his perimeter game.
Dalembert is also another player for the future. He has great shot-blocking instincts and will be a top rebounder as well in the league someday. In short, the Sixers need to once again become that hustle team ad I say that if they can indeed trade Big Dog somehow or even just get rid of him, it will be great for the team.
