It is pretty pointless to sign or trade for a good point guard right now. They just drafted Livingston, and if you bring in a good PG, all he is going to do is sit the bench. That makes no sense, and is a waste of the pick.
The Clippers should not be pursuing anything at the PG position other than a stopgap for a year, maybe two for Livingston. And whoever they get should not command huge minutes so that Livingston is kept on the bench.
As for getting Butler ... that makes Q expendable, so no, there would not be a glut of wing players on the team.
As for the shooting issue, Q is not a great shooter either. Butler had a down year this year, but thats not the norm for him. He is a better shooter than he displayed this year. He's not a bad shooter, and he's not a great shooter. Thats the same with Q. Q is only marginally better. The upgrades Butler would provide in other key areas far outweigh the slight advantage Q has in shooting.
