Iverson OK with Sixers' changes..
Quote:
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Allen Iverson said he has no problem with the 76ers' trade of Eric Snow last week, even though they spent nearly six seasons together, and even though it means Iverson will become the 76ers' primary point guard.
Iverson said he knew it was necessary for the same reasons the 76ers knew it was necessary. Snow was traded to Cleveland for reserves Kevin Ollie and Kedrick Brown, which practically guarantees that Willie Green will start with Iverson in the backcourt.
"The team knows Willie Green has to play significant minutes," Iverson said. "I guess that means I'm playing point guard, and I'm satisfied with that. I think it gives us much more of an advantage, because Willie Green can score in bunches and we'll run a lot more with me at the point."
When Larry Brown was 76ers' coach, the core revolved around Iverson, Snow and Aaron McKie, and the Sixers prided themselves on playing defense and getting the ball to Iverson on offense.
Under coach Jim O'Brien, the core will revolve around Iverson as well as young, athletic players like Green, Samuel Dalembert and first-round draft pick Andre Iguodala.
"The team we have, we need to score in transition a lot instead of a half-court game," Iverson said. "I like running on made and missed baskets. It puts a lot of pressure on a defense. It's a new look for us, and I feel like it's a new start for me."
Iverson said he feels that way because of O'Brien, who was hired April 21 and immediately professed his desire to coach Iverson. That resonated well with Iverson.

Another offseason, and Iverson is saying all the right things. There were high expectations on last season but Ayers just wasn't good enough of a coach to do anything. Now we'll see how things work now. I just have this feeling that it's going to be a good season.
