Kidd is not a good penetrator and isn't lightening quick laterally. He won't break anybody's ankles like Parker, Marbury, Davis and Bibby can. If you think creating baskets in the halfcourt only means driving-and-dishing then yes, Kidd isn't a halfcourt player.

What he can do though is 1) Because of his size, he can post-up almost every other PG in the league and he's very good at it. In recent memory after a heated exchange with Frank Williams in the Knicks 1st round series , Kidd schooled him in the post . 2) Find open teammates with his unparalled court-vision. He led the league in dunk (and close to the basket) assists last year but a good number of them were non-fastbreak assists. Alley-oops to RJ and KMart and backdoor passes to Kittles for example consistuted a fair number of them. actually, the Nets fastbreak players were sometimes too unselfish last year and would make that extra pass . For example Kidd would pass to RJ for the finish but RJ would
make the extra pass and get others involved. So it wasn't as if all of Kidd's 9.2 apg came on the break.
