from the 50's Vern Mikkelsen and several others would knock guys out if they drove the lane. Literally.

from the 60's Gus Johnson was only 6-5 or 6-6 but probably the strongest power forward of his time, and very physical.

from the 70's, John Brisker. Mostly played in ABA, but did play in NBA for a while and people were afraid for their lives. Only 6-4 but outmuscled lots of forwards. Paul Silas was physical too, played Rodman-style defense. Maurice Lucas was one mean player.

from the 80's Darrel Dawkins. He was one of the strongest guys in the league, he used to swing his elbows like crazy to clear space. They made it a tech because of him. Laimbeer was crazy physical too.

from the 90's Rodman, Oakly, A Mason, Karl Malone

from the 00's, Ben Wallace, Karl Malone
