I'll keep on waiting, his play has been very underwelming but I do think that he needs to adjust to the league. I expect his offense to be average, but you cannot expect his defense and rebounding to be spectacular for a rookie during his first preseason games, guys drafted for defense are usually like htis. They have to adjust to playing defense in the league. Okafor's anticipation is not bad, he is a very smart defender and a very good weakside/help defender. He showed this in college where he was simply the most dominant defensive force in the entire nation. Yes, the college game is much different from the pro's, but that is no reason why a guy swatting shots left and right can't do it in the pros. These are things he has proved at a high level of basketball, there is no hidden potential here to question, he shows a solid understanding of hte game. Playing defense in the NBA comes with experience. As for rebounding, the NCAA doesn't play the same bruising, physical game to grab boards like the NBA does, again, things like this needs some adjusting. I think by All Star weekend he should show a significant improvement from where he is now, but yes, no doubt that he hasn't been impressive so far.
