Aside from just being totally crazy, would it be a bad basketball move for the Magic to trade McGrady? As it stands, they aren't going to get Brown or anyone of his ability. That means they're basically "stuck" with Hill, TMac, and Miller as the core of their team. As Deveany says in that article, they're good, not great (mostly due to Hill and their complete lack of inside help). If they're really set on become a "great" team, in the best tradition of their own past and Jerry Krause, they should gamble it all and trade TMac.

I'd be willing to bet that TMac could fetch JWill and Curry from the Bulls or Kwame and Stack from us.

I simply ask, which team has the chance to go to the finals in a couple years?

1. Curry, Kemp, Hill, Miller, JWill
2. Kemp, Brown, Miller, Stack, Hill
3. Stephen Hunter, Kemp, Miller, TMac, Hill

If the Magic really want to swing for the fences, they'd be better off trading TMac.
Based on the way Jay and Curry look thus far I'd want a hell of a lot more from Chi than those two. If I were Orl, I'd ask for Chandler, Curry, Jay, and a 1st round pick. Unreasonable? Maybe but TMac might be the best player in the league.
