I'm excited about next year for Iggy..
By far I think Andre Iguodala is the player who has, and will, benefit the most from the addition to the 76ers lineup. What Webber is bringing now, even though spacing isn't great, is attention. Watch the Sixers prior to the trade, and Kenny Thomas was often defended by players who were willing to let him to take the shot right inside the three point line. With Webber, Iguodala's slashing is becoming more rewarding and he's in a position to either score or setup another of his teammates (if they can catch his passes).
What's really a good sign is especially after the trade, is the enhanced confidence Iguodala is playing with. More often in the halfcourt, he makes decisions, and often times they are smart ones, which is amazing considering how young he is. superdave mentioned this in the 76ers/Kings thread but it's true that Iggy's stroke is much better than anticipated, and not only that.. but he has a very good shot selection. His worst shooting percentage since the trade was 44% Vs the Nets.
I can't wait to see him next season, after getting a year of experience. He's improved during the season, and with his work ethic, I'm sure that he'll come back a ton better. Maybe, I'm stating the obvious, maybe I'm exaggerating but with all these flashes we're seeing from Iggy while he's still playing consistently, I think we have the face of the Sixers for the post-Iverson era.
Here's hoping he continues his improvement.
