Re: Freddie Jones' minutes
Assuming our roster stays the same, I don't want Freddie Jones playing any point guard unless we're desperate for depth at that position (i.e., one of our PG's gets injured). That being said, I think James Jones is the better player and assuming we re-sign him, there aren't any minutes for Freddie. We should use a three-man rotation at SG and SF, with Stephen Jackson playing 36 minutes per game at SG, Ron Artest playing the other 12 minutes at SG and 24-28 minutes at SF, and James Jones getting the other 20-24 minutes at SF.
Although Freddie is one of my favorite Pacers, he is trade bait unless James isn't re-signed and even if James walks, Freddie will get at most 24 minutes per game, which isn't enough to compete for 6th man of the year. Though, I actually think we won't re-sign James because our payroll is too high already.
