I don't normally see many players who excel in shot blocking and/or stealing as good defenders...well, mostly on the perimeter. It just means that they probably gamble way too much, and give up more possessions than a player who just plays his man. In the case of an interior weakside shot blocker like Ben Wallace who isn't as good at playing man-to-man defense as he is shot blocking, it's easier to consider him a better defender because he keeps players he doesn't play from scoring.

Was it we got a lot better with Larry Brown or a lot better with Rasheed Wallace? Last I checked Larry had no better record with the Pistons then Carisle did when Rasheed wasn't playing.
