RJ's contract gamble
Last summer, RJ took financial security instead of gambling on the FA market this summer. It most likely cost him a tidy sum.
RJ signed for 6 years and 76 million (as close to the max as Kenyon's contract) while Joe Johnson is getting at least a 5 year 70 million dollar deal. The reason for this disparity is the significant raise in the salary cap
Probably the biggest fear for RJ was that owners were pushing for contracts of 4 years / 5 years for their own players but ended up giving into 5/6.
So once again, Thorn gets lucky
