Excellent point, too many players end up pigeonholed like that simply because they don't fit into the prototypical mold for their position. Two years ago Elton Brand's efficiency rating was third in the NBA to Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan if memory serves. That means better than McGrady, Shaq, Kirilenko, Nowitzki, Bryant and a slew of others who ended up making the all-star game. This is an issue I blame mostly on the NBA fans at-large who become infatuated with the "superstar" players and tend to ignore players like Elton who quitely and consistently go about their business. He's not the first and he surely won't be the last, but it's just a matter of time before the masses start to realize that this guy is actually one of the best big men the NBA has to offer. That should hopefully take place starting this season when the Clippers make their first playoff appearance in more than a decade.
