Likely the wrong choice of an example, but how many people knew about Wade in Chicago's high school ranks before bein' plucked by Crean for Marquette; that Golden Eagles squad was the best that the Milwaukee school's fielded since Al McGuire's heyday, but if you asked around the block, do you really think that Wade had the name cache that Manning, O'Bannon, etc. did, especially after their respective runs in the NC2As? Really... Lot of folks will tell you they knew he was goin' to be an NBA stud NOW, but how many of 'em would you really trust and/or believe - 'cause, yes, I knew about him, but I wouldn't have pegged him to be the force that he is right now...

Look @ this scenario then: Dwayne 'Pearl' Washington versus Mark Price -> the NYC-bred Pearl got more press, especially b/c of the Syracuse spotlight than the Georgia Tech ramblin' wreck-based Price (under Bobby Cremins) durin' their college careers, but Price panned out to be the better pro (although it wasn't a phenomenal run, it was still better than the much more ballyhooed Washington)...

That is an important point to remember. Anyone who says they know for sure that Villanueva is going to be a horrible pro, or a great pro, is lying, quite frankly. It's impossible to know.
