I dont think both will make the playoffs...on paper, the west seems too strong here in the preseason for both the clippers and lakers to depose one of the teams. On paper again, it seems like the clippers have the better chance to do it. But the thing about the western conference is, you never can predict anything.

1. Suns werent supposed to be that good in 04, and look what they did.
2. Sonics were supposed to be even WORSE, and look what they did.
3. No one could have guessed the twolves would have missed the playoffs.

So who knows what will happen. About that only thing that i think is sure, is that the spurs and rockets will probably be top 3 in the west barring superstar injuries.
