Rookie point guard Nate Robinson found that out when he briefly got into the game late in the first quarter. On the first breakaway of his pro career, the 5-8 Robinson, trailed by Jefferson, tried to throw the ball at the backboard so he could dunk it. Instead, he fell to the ground in traffic, banging his right elbow.
When Robinson looked up, there was Brown right in his face. Said Brown, "I said he was crazy."
Robinson remembers his coach saying a bit more than that. He said he'll go for the easy layup next time, but this time, he said he just couldn't help himself.
"I was trying for the dunk. I just had to get it out of my system," Robinson said. "That's who I am."
