Re: Team with the best

The Spurs look pretty well off. Duncan makes the max, which is warranted, Parker might be slightly overpaid, but Manu is probably underpaid so that works out to about even. And just having those three through 2010 will keep them competitive, but they do need some role players around them. And that's where it could get a little hairy.

Rasho's contract is really bad. Other than that though, nobody makes too much and everyone seems pretty tradable. They may run into some problems in 07-08 when Horry, Finley, Barry and Bowen are all in their final year of their contracts. I'm guessing Horry will be retired, Barry will be pretty worthless and Finley might be a little over the hill too. But he's only making $3.1 million that year and Bowen has a team option for $4 million, which will depend on how well his lateral movement holds up on D. So they need to figure out how to replace these guys' current production a few years down the line, when most of their cap space will be going to the big three. It could be tough to replace all the role players since most are currently "bargains." It's gonna take some good drafting, but I'm pretty sure they'll manuever through this and find some guys that want to win some titles with Duncan, Manu and Parker.
