That's ridiculous.

Who's starting QB for the Seahawks? Who's their starting WR? Their starting RB? Where do they play? Who owns the team?

And who was responsible for making those things happen? The answer is Bob Whitsitt. He helped convince Paul Allen to buy the team. He helped make Seahawks Stadium happen. He brought Mike Holmgren on board, traded for Hasselbeck, drafted Jackson and Alexander.

Were Darby, Jurevicius, and Fisher important? I guess so. But compared to Hasselbeck, Jackson, Alexander and Holmgren they're insignificant.

Anyone who ignores what Whitsitt did to build this team is being irrational or is just ignorant of the role he played.

He wasn't a perfect manager--he wasn't really even a football guy. But he was the single most important guiding force in how the Seahawks are constructed today.

I'm not sure that they would be in the Super Bowl this year if he were still in charge, but I seriously doubt that they would be if he hadn't been in the previous years.
