As Starbury points out, that's wrong. He's a regular old D-leaguer.

I confess I thought it was a bit ****ty at first. But then I remembered how much more money people get in the NBA, even on 10-day contracts. I bet if it were explained to Udoka, he'd agree to it like a shot. So, change my suggestion to "suggest this to Udoka, and do it if he agrees, knowing that he's unlikely to get PT." The only reason he wouldn't is if he thinks he's more likely to get a "genuine" call-up by staying and playing. But he's got to know that Martell and Monia being around is only going to cut into his PT anyway, and any player who's willing to play in the D-league for around $12K a year has got to believe in himself enough to think he can prove something by just getting a chance to practice with the Blazers.

1. Who gives a flying ****?
2. Does ANYTHING the Blazers do go over well with the press?
3. Does it change anything if it's made clear that this was cleared with Udoka first?
BUT, having said all that...

This kind of renders the whole thing moot. Although if the rumoured trade for Antonio Davis went through, that might clear up a spot...
