PG - Paul/Palacio
SG - Giricek/Brown/Harpring
SF - Kirilenko/Harpring
PF - Boozer/Humphries
C - Okur/Collins/Ostertag
That's a top 5 playoff team in the west at the very worst.

They took Deron because of his size and his ability to sell himself to the franchise.

. There was, though, some debate. In fact, O'Connor said the final call on Williams over Wake Forest University point Chris Paul did not come until about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
"It was not an easy decision," Sloan said afterward. "We just had to go with what we think is best for this franchise."
Sloan said Williams and Paul "play a little bit differently, see a little bit differently."
So what was the ultimate difference, then, in the mind of Jazz brass?
For starters, Williams might have sold himself a bit better.
"His interview that we had with him was very impressive as to how the game is played and what his approach to basketball (is)," Sloan said. "His overall knowledge of basketball was, I thought, very impressive. . . . He seemed to have a pretty good understanding of what team basketball is about."
"I think he (Williams) sees the floor," O'Connor added, "as well as anybody we've seen in a long time."
Physical attributes helped, too.
At 6-foot-3 Williams is two inches taller than Paul. At a solid 202 pounds — down about 15 from a few months ago — he also has 20-plus on Paul's 178.

2) Why does Phoenix get no respect as a title contender? They're already doing great this year, with the addition of Diaw, Bell, Thomas, Jones, and House. And when Big Amare comes back they could be unstoppable. Basically they'll be like last years team except with better defense and a much deeper bench.

I give them respect. I'm not sure who's not giving them respect. Maybe they need to get out of the cave they've been living in.

3) How come refs don't call travelling when players leap three feet forward landing right next to the hoop? I've seen Shaq do this all the time. Gets the ball, makes a few dribbles, then outright leaps across the lane and then whindes up underneath the basket for an easy dunk. How does a defender stop that?

No clue, I guess if the rule was enforced everytime then there would be a hell of alot of traveling calls.
Becuase he's on the Knicks.

5) Why didn't Isiah Thomas let his two expiring contracts (Davis and Hardaway) run out at the end of the year? He has some great rookies, with a couple key pieces (Marbury and Curry). He could've started to rebuild the team and cut his losses with the horrible signings he had already done - but now the Knicks are still an infested, sloppy, and disorganized composition of overpaid castoffs.

There is no logical plan for the Knicks. None at all.
It seems to me that Isiah likes to make moves just for the hell of it.
