Heat and Nets

I'm wondering why the majority of heat fans don't think we have a legitimate argument for beating them in a 7 game series.

First of all, it is of my opinion that we are the better team and will win in a 7 game series, but I can respect any arguments they make to the contrary.

Here is my argument:

Last year, the Heat won more games against elite teams than they lost. This year, that is different. To say that regular season means nothing is absurd, since all teams try their hardest when they are playing against elite teams. In the regular season, I am sure they tried hard against the top teams, and still did not pull away with better than a 2-11 record. I highly doubt that there has been a team with a record equal or worse than 2-11 that has won the championship.

Last year, the Heat torched the Nets in their games, winning by 20ish points. This year, it is different. Again, to say that regular season doesn't mean anything is silly, as it was clear both teams were playing at a high level in all of these games.

This year, our team is much better than last year. Nenad has improved. Carter has now played for more than one season (even the Bulls weren't great when MJ returned for his first season after retiremenet). Jefferson hasn't been injured. Kidd is more recovered from his surgery.

We match up much better against the Heat this year than we did last year. We don't have to worry about their perimeter threats as much. Last year, Jones torched us by making open shot after open shot. The Heat don't have the players to do the same this year.

To me, I really have no idea why some people predict a sweep. Can anyone explain this to me? I respect the Heats argument that SHaq turns it up in the post season (statistically, he doesn't though), and that they have Wade, so tehy are a good team and can win against us.

But to predict that they are a far better team? I don't understand... can someone explain?
