I'd want to make damned sure they wanted us gone, because we'd be leaving them with a civil war. After the first war with Iraq, we encouraged the ShEEites (filter doesn't like ****es) to revolt against Saddam, when they did, we abandoned them to be murdered by the tens of thousands by Saddam, flying the military choppers that we agreed to allow in the terms of surrender. If we leave them with civil war, the Sunnis will probably be either driven out, or exterminated. I don't again want to feel the shame I felt when we left the ShEEites twisting in the wind.

If we pulled out today, how long would it be until you posted about how we spent 2,000 lives in Iraq, and were chased out with our tails between our legs...with nothing but a worse off, civil war torn mess to show for it?
