Re: Memphis mentioned in Iverson trade talks

Last year there was a trade rumor involving several Grizzlies' players that we all thought was dead until the biggest trade in the NBA went through. The Griz have been rumored to be involdve in an AI trade as has the Celtics. I know many of ya'll are big AI fans but IMO he doesn't fit the Grizzlies' style of play and is too expensive for a small market like Memphis.

Here's a thought on the issue:
Philly sents AI to Bos, Mem sents Eddie Jones and Warrick to Philly, and Memphis receives Pierce and maybe a young player. Mem may have to throw in next years 1st round pick and/or the trade exception (if it is still alive).

The benefits are that Philly gets an expiring contract and two players with Philly ties. Boston gets AI and a new central focus for their young team. Memphis gets their first or second option to go with Pau.

Philly seems to be wanting to shrink its payroll and start building for the future while Boston seems to interested in changing the superstar leadership (AI for PP) for their young squad.

What do you think?
