I swear I know why they treated Jack like a God but I can't remember right now...I'm sorry I'm so inadequate. I didn't even see part one but I tremendously enjoyed part 2. I hope I helped at least a little bit.
They treated Jack like a God because they thought he was their long-lost leader or god or something along those lines.
