Re: Save Sheed and the NBA

I've never been bothered in any way by watching players complain to officials. It happens in every sport, basketball is the only one that even has a penalty associated with it.

I think this new emphasis is stupid, not because of what it is trying to accomplish, but because they JUST addressed this last year.

When they instituted the increased fine scale and suspensions starting at 15 techs last year, technical fouls decreased dramatically league wide. So now they want to essentially double the frequency with which they are going to be called?

My fear is that the last 10-15 games of the season, the most important time of the year, are going to be marred by a huge flood of suspensions. Which is absolutely horrible for the league.

It's not so much the quick trigger techs that have to go, it's the suspensions associated with them.

(The frequency with which the NBA suspends it's players in general is alarming to me. There are probably as many suspensions for non-drug related issues in the NBA on a yearly basis as there are in the NFL, MLB, and NHL combined.)
