Re: What does it take to get respect for this team?
It's not only that, the Jazz had some promising moments last season, but with a pretty shabby roster and with a lot of young or crappy players filling key positions.
This year's team, just by offseason moves, is so much better than last years (still got 41 wins), and I still heard comments all over the place about how we couldn't compete in this conference.
Last year we had MILT PALACIO starting games, Devin Brown competing with Giricek for a starting role, Boozer was out for almost the whole year, Deron was a rookie... etc.
This year we are legitemately 8-10 players deep, and all have the talent to play quality minutes. Even so far, Fisher has an on-floor +43 for the season... it's a hell of a lot more than McLeod, Brown or Andre Owens ever did.
This year's team just looks so much better than last year's, it's hilarious people were already counting them as another lottery team before the season started. Now that the Jazz are beating some really good teams, some fans enjoy the team and think they are a good team, others still don't expect jack crap from them.
Anyway, I just find it unbelievable how overlooked this team was from day 1.
