Re: OK, Fred Jones can't shoot.

i think it's important to remember that there are highs and lows for every player during every season. the player we see today may not be the same player we see next week or next month- or even tomorrow. there are peaks and valleys, which is why it's especially risky to say things like, "this guy doesn't deserve any court time" or "this guy will hurt the team all year given the way he's playing now". quite frankly, i don't think fred jones will be shooting like this all year. i don't think he'll be playing like this all year. i don't think any of us think he will. i think he's in a funk, and with the support of his team and his coaches (and his fans) he'll come out of it sooner than later.

yes, he's shooting poorly these days. but do we really want to sit him beside slokar and tucker at the end of the bench? i think that would be a mistake. he's sure to come out of it soon, i think. this guy's going through a slump like morris peterson goes through slumps, like joey graham goes through slumps, like mike james went through slumps, like donyell marshall went through slumps- like i'm sure anthony parker and jorge garbajosa go through slumps. i'm just not a big fan of the bandwagon- i'd rather surround our players with a reliable mass of positive energy, and for it to be the one thing on which they can count.

fred jones will come out of this imo, and i know he wants to come out of it even more than we want him to. let's give him a chance. i think he deserves it.

peace
