Re: Sean Williams

Not better than Ben Wallace's?

Give me a freaking break. The guy has been more than passable on the offensive end this year. Every nationally televised game he's played in he's shown improved offensive ability. He's still not getting double-teamed or getting consistent touches, but he is absolutely going to end up a serviceable offensive player in the NBA.

Against Michigan State and UMass he displayed very, very soft touch and the ability to score with his back to the basket. He has a hook and a fadeaway. He executes his moves fully extended, which is a formidable advantage considering the length of his arms.

He didn't score as much against Mary, but he wasn't getting many touches. He certainly showed nice awareness and touch in the garbage/relatively easy near the basket moves he did get.

This isn't speculation, this is fact. Players improve, and Sean Williams is no Ben Wallace anymore.

And he is a terrible rebounder. He had 5 freaking rebounds against Michigan State and Massachusetts combined, routinely getting beaten by his man for rebounds he should have easily corralled. It is unthinkable that a player this athletic, strong, and long could only get 2 rebounds in a game. He was listless and inactive, in both these games, only affecting the game as a shot blocker. He didn't run the floor, didn't attack the glass with enough energy to make even the least bit of difference, and was generally outhustled in loose ball situations.

He looked much, much better on the glass against Maryland, but this was by far his best all-around effort of the season. He showed poor rebounding a season ago, and that really hasn't change up to this point.

And do you really want to bring up Oriene Green?

He was completely off the radar before Givony caught wind of him, scouted him, and decided he was draft-worthy.

He actually got picked. And then he actually made it in the NBA.

How in God's green earth are you bringing this up?
