Cinco de Mayo

I hate moral victories and being proud of them, but even I have to admit there were a lot of positives to take from this game.

Second-half Mike Miller is the Mike Miller we've been needing all season. When he just stops thinking, clears his head and looks for his shot, he can be straight deadly. Hopefully, it's Gasol's presence that is giving him the room he needs to work. These last two games have been his best consecutive performances of the year.

The team did a good job coming back and tying the game at 71, but then Stromile traveled, Finley hit a three-pointer to kick off a 10-point San Antonio run and the Grizz had to play catch-up again. During that run, the offense was out-of-sync, and too many guys like Swift and Stoudamire were looking for their own shot. Miller also had a bad possession where he Chucky Atkins'ed it.

Another comeback, taking the lead, but we didn't stretch it out the next time down the floor, IIRC, and then we left Finley wide open for another three.

The Spurs just execute so well on crucial possessions. There was absolutely no doubt in my mind that Parker or Bowen were going to miss those baseline jumpers that put us away. It's at the point where if the Spurs do anything wrong in the crunch, I'm shocked.

Good game for our guys. I still like what I'm seeing from AJ and Rudy.
