They've both had amazing careers, obviously, but if I had to break it down I would break it down like this:

Shaq, for his career, was more dominant, period. He's a genetic freak, and once his skill caught up with his size he was unstopable. Duncan on the other hand isn't as physically imposing but is more fundamentally sound (I hope that doesn't sound too cliche). But I really believe that Duncan more than anyone has benefited most from the organization he plays for. The spurs area very well ran organization, and he was lucky to have D-Rob there in the beginning. Yes, it's true Shaq never won until he went to LA, but that's besides the point.

In terms of who's had a better career though...I'd give the edge to Shaq, because 4 rings > 3. But Duncan is not far behind. When it's all said and done they'll both be top 10 of all time.
