Bubble Watch (Feb 25)

Lots of teams locked up bids this weekend.

Locks : Defined as a team that can lose the rest of its games and will get in the tournament

There are 40 Locks Right Now
Pac 10 (5) - UCLA, Wash St, USC, Oregon, Arizona
ACC (6) - UNC, Virginia Tech, Virginia, BC, Duke, Maryland
Big Ten (4) - Ohio St, Wisconsin, Michigan St., Illinois
MVC (3) - Southern Illinois, Creighton, Missouri St

MWC (3) - UNLV, BYU, Air Force
Big 12 (3) - Texas A&M, Kansas, Texas
Colonial (2) - VCU, Old Dominion

One Team In Conference teams that are Locks if they lose their tourney - Nevada, Xavier, Memphis, Butler

One Team In Conference Teams on the Bubble if they lose their tourney - Winthrop, Gonzaga, Davidson

Conference Leaders that must win tourney to get in - Toldeo, Long Beach St, Bucknell, Penn, Vermont, South Alabama, Marist, Oral Roberts, Austin Peay, ETSU, Weber St, Sam Houston St, CCSU, Delware St, Miss Valley St.

So that's 57 Spots - leaves 8 spots open:

Near Lock Bubble Teams

Stanford - Just has to beat Arizona St at home, which should be relatively easy... but if they lose that game could end up 9-9 in conference, and I think they would miss. (Key - Beat ASU at home)

Indiana - Another team that just has to do its business. Win either at Northwestern or at home vs Penn St and they are safe... but lose those games and they are a .500 teams, with a 30ish RPI, and a bad end to the season. Almost a lock, but they most close the deal with an easy win.

Kansas St -

to be updated later....
