What is going on?

I don't understand why Hayes starts OR plays at the end of games. He is shooting abysmal this season. I can't even remember a game when he played good enough to warrant the playing time Eddie Jordan gives him. EJ just doesn't want to give up on him.

Let's just move on.
Well Hayes did convert 3 free throws when he was fouled on a 3 pointer in the 4th quarter. You have to remember Hayes is essentially still a young player since this is only his 2nd full season. Hayes does help spread the floor. Still, I imagine the Wizards will be looking for a replacement this coming offseason since Hayes is on the last year of his contract.

The Wizards really lost the game in the final moments when they couldn't get a defensive rebounder. First, they allowed Blount to get an offensive rebound forcing the Wizards to foul. Then after Blount misses two free throws, the Wizards give up another offensive rebound to Kevin Garnett. With play like that from Haywood and Blatche, I can (unfortunately) envision more Michael Ruffin in the 4th quarter.
