Re: Jeff Green

Green has some pretty modest numbers for a major conference POY. Nobody really stands out in the Big East. I guess Hibbert, Gray, and maybe James are the other choices.

It'll be interesting to see what he decides this summer. On paper, it looks like it would be very tempting to return to school. The team will have every significant player back, granted Hibbert doesn't jump. They'll also add a nice 2 in frosh Austin Freeman. The Hoyas could be legit championship contenders next season.

From a financial/professional perspective, I would jump if I were Green. He's a jack of trades that just won POY in a major conference. Assuming he doesn't have a complete meltdown in the tourney, I don't see his stock getting much higher next season. There is a lot of talent at GTown, especially in the frontcourt with Macklin and Summers itching to get minutes.

Whenever he jumps, he's a low-risk pick and teams know exactly what they're getting. I have a feeling he'll end up dropping some on draft day as Granger did. He's a sensible, not sexy, pick.

If he jumps this year, I don't see how he slips out of the lotto. As far as SFs or combo-Fs go for this draft, I'd rank them:

1.) Durant
2.) Julian Wright
3.) Thaddeus
4.) Green
5.) Thornton
6.) Brewer
