You've got to be kidding me. If a team doesn't play well when they're trying hard and these two teams are trying hard because there's pride/respect/brag on the line, it's because the other team is outplaying them.
This isn't really a statement game, per se, since the Suns have proven they're capable of beating the Mavs already but this game is important to both teams for reasons other than "the grand scheme of things". Excuses like that work for a fan who's living on the Nile but you can look at the Coach, Dirk and the players involved that it matters.
Dirk didn't have to come back in, but he did. Why if the game is insignificant? He's hobbling but he wants it. He wants it bad.
