NBA D-League Championship Game

I just though I would put this here, because, correct me if I'm wrong, but it is the Nuggets reserves team, and they have made it to the Championship game against the Dakota Wizards...

When: Sunday, April 29th, 6 p.m. CT, Live On NBA TV

Where: Bismarck Civic Center, Bismarck, N.D., Buy Tickets

Watch (National):
Live on NBA TV

Watch (Local):
KFYR-TV

Dakota Record:
33-17, 1st place, Eastern Division

Colorado Record:
28-22, 2nd place, Western Division

Season Series: Tie 2-2

Dec. 29th, at Dakota: Dakota 124, Colorado 112
Dec. 31st, at Dakota: Dakota 108, Colorado 106
Jan. 17th, at D-League Showcase: Colorado 126, Dakota 116
Feb. 26th, at Colorado: Colorado 119, Dakota 94

Last Meeting:
The 14ers cruised to victory by a 119-94 margin in their only home game against Dakota this season. The win eneded the season series at two wins for each team.

The 14ers had six players in double-figures led by 21 points from Terrance Crawford. Elton Brown added 19 points and eight rebounds while Pooh Jeter dished out a season-high 13 assists as the 14ers began what would be a six-game winning streak.

Quemont Greer scored 19 points for the Wizards, who suffered their worst loss of the 2006-07 season. Corey Williams added 17 points in his first game as a member of the Wizards while Renaldo Major was limited to 13 points.

What To Look For:

Has Colorado Solved The Wizards?

The Wizards, who cruised to a tie for the league's best record, lost only four games by double-digits this season. The Colorado 14ers were responsible for two of those double-digit losses, both of which have come in the last two meetings between the teams. However, one key factor to consider is that neither of these games occured in the Bismarck Civic Center, the site of Sunday's game. The Wizards are the D-League's best home team, compiling a record of 19-6 in Bismarck, including two wins over the 14ers. Judging by the enthusiastic crowd in Bismarck for Saturday's game against Sioux Falls, expect another big-game atmosphere for Sunday.

Points and Boards

It shouldn't be much of a surprise that the Wizards and the 14ers are meeting in the Championship, as both teams are ranked at the top of the league in both scoring and rebounding. Colorado is ranked first while Dakota is second this season in field goals made, points scored, and offensive rebounds. The Wizards are first in total rebounds, with the 14ers in second place. Expect a shooutout on Sunday, as the season series averaged 226.25 total points per game. Colorado scored 106 points or better in all four games against Dakota.

Dakota Wizards

Probable Starters

Guard, Maurice Baker: Baker is one of two current Wizards who was in the starting lineup for the team's first regular season game. He started 46 games for Dakota, averaging 7.9 points and a team-high 4.5 assists

Guard, Corey Williams: Williams, who appeared in 15 games with Sioux Falls earlier in the year, has been a fixure in the Wizards' starting lineup since joining the team in February. He averaged 14.0 points in 20 games with Dakota in the regular season.

Forward, Renaldo Major: Major has been a huge contributor for the Wizards this season, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors while being named an All-D-League First Team selection. He started 45 games, averaging 18.2 points and 4.5 rebounds.

Forward, Quemont Greer: Greer started in 42 games for Dakota while earning multiple D-League Performer of the Week honors. He scored a season-high 40 points against the 14ers on January 17th at the D-League Showcase.

Center, Kevin Lyde: Lyde has started 37 games for the Wizards, averaging 9.4 points and 6.4 rebounds. He was actually waived by Dakota in December, but was re-acquired two weeks later. He worked his way into the starting lineup on January 5th and has started every game since.

Bench: Chris McCray, Rod Benson, Dontell Jefferson, Jerome Beasley, Darius Rice

Colorado 14ers

Probable Starters

Guard, Pooh Jeter: Jeter has been one of the league's best point guards this season and was one of four 14ers to be named to the All-D-League Team. He started all 50 games for Colorado, averaging 14.4 points and a league-leading 7.1 assists.

Guard, Tony Bobbitt: Bobbitt was one of Bakersfield's top scorers before struggling with injuries and eventually catching on with the 14ers. He averaged 13.5 points over 36 total games, and has moved into the starting lineup after Von Wafer's move to the Nuggets.

Forward, Rick Rickert Rickert has been one of the league's best sixth men all season, but has now moved into a starting role during the playoffs. He averaged 10.8 points and 6.0 rebounds during the season and was named a D-League Western Division All-Star.

Forward, Terrance Crawford Crawford became a starter after Louis Amundson's departure to the NBA and finished the season with averages of 6.0 points and 4.3 rebounds. One of his best games of the season came against Dakota on February 26th when he scored 21 points with five rebounds.

Center, Elton Brown A First-Team All-D-League selection, Brown has started all 50 games for Colorado in the regular season and led the league with 21 double-doubles. He is averaging 27.0 points and 11.5 rebounds over the first two games of the D-League playoffs.

Bench: Mike Harris, Antoine Hood, Mo Charlo, Chad Bell, Mark Jones.

Just one thing on top of that, have a look at Center, Elton Brown... in his last 2 playoff games he has averaged 27 ppg, and 11.5 rpg.. not too bad, might be a kid to have a look at...
