Warriors are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

The smart play is not to, considering Baron's history of health. Locking him up - might that make him complacent? I love the guy, but I'd worry about his motivation to stay fit w/ a big contact. Even if he did stay fit, he's still susceptible to injury.

Then again, there hasn't been a guy with the talent, charisma, and je ne sais quas since Tim Hardaway. The guy has a lot of intangibles (as was displayed loud and clear in this year's playoffs).

I say why not? It would be a risk, but a smarter risk, IMO, than other signings under the current regime.
