Re: OT: Protein Shakes

Egg whites fellas. Egg whites. If it works for Julio Franco at 47, it will work for those of you half his age. Egg whites are PURE protein. Get a whole grain english muffin, fry up 3-5 (or more if you want, I think Franco eats 8 every morning LOL)egg WHITES (not Yolks) and enjoy that. It will taste better than any protein shake you can get your hands on. Whole grain cabrohydrates, and low cholesterol protein. That's the key for success. Egg whites have NO cholesterol, since it's all in the yolk. You need a little meat, get some lean ham, or one or two strips of bacon (A little fat won't harm you) to throw with the egg whites on the whole wheat english muffin.

If you're trying to get protein in after a workout, an idea of mine is natural nut butters. However, there's nothing wrong with eating eggs twice a day either. I think they say Eggs are nature's food, there's a reason for it.
