It's pretty sad when this is the only thing we can manage.I'd rather pick up someone from the d league honestly.McInnis isn't any good and that was established ten years ago.So long as we aren't really serious about competing for the playoffs this season we may as well do it with someone who might have value in the future.
I don't know what Bonnell means when he claims that under the CBA
the league will pay a large portion of McInnis contract.I've never heard anything that indicates the league subsidizes washed up bums.It would make more sense if someone else was paying him...Like maybe the other teams that want to make the playoffs in the East perhaps. He's certainly worth nothing close 1.1 million.
We're not really that far from being a decent team relative to the East, but it's just retarded if our FO thinks we can compete without any quality depth at the point or in the frontcourt.
Agent: McInnis to sign 1-year deal with Bobcats
Quote:
The Charlotte Bobcats will fill the major hole on their depth chart today by signing point guard Jeff McInnis, the Observer has learned.
McInnis' agent, Steve Kauffman, confirmed that McInnis will sign a one-year deal at the veteran minimum (approximately $1.1 million). Under the NBA's collective-bargaining agreement, the league will pay a large portion of McInnis' contract
