Felton ready to lead Bobcats

Quote:
The Bobcats, believe it or not, are thinking playoffs. One reason is because new coach Sam Vincent is restructuring the offense to try and put more of an emphasis on PG Raymond Felton's ability. The hope is that Felton's penetration skill will create open jumpers for the team's perimeter players. That's good news for re-signed SG Matt Carroll, who shot 41.6 percent from 3-point range last year. The team is hoping more open jumpers will help SF Gerald Wallace (who shot a career-high 120 3s, and made a career-high 32.5 percent) continue to improve from the perimeter. And don't forget new guy SG Jason Richardson, who became more of a shooter while playing with PG Baron Davis -- 41.0 percent of Richardson's shots were 3-pointers last year, compared with 26.4 percent over the previous five seasons. Felton has accepted a leadership role under Vincent, and has been calling teammates, trying to get them into Charlotte for early pre-training camp work starting next week. ...
