I'd never read the official rules before. I read them, and interpreted them. That's just what I saw. I could be wrong, but I think what I just wrote out makes sense, if you watch the video step by step.
Actually, the part I'd question is which foot is the rear foot. That seems ambiguous to me (posibly intentionally ambiguous). Is it the foot that arrives at the spot last or the foot that winds up behind his path to the spot? It would seem that both interpretations have their merits.
