True, but the height of players back then was just different, in todays game its common to have 3-4 guys on your team that are 6'10 and bigger, Wilt was 7'2 and just a freak compared to the strong majority of players at the time. Most teams in the NBA back in wilts time were lucky to have more than 1-2 which makes it difficult to keep up with him for an entire game, obviously being a physical oddity doesnt guarantee success (Shawn Bradley, Georghe Muresean) but if you have and talent whatsoever it can be an unbelievable advantage, I feel Yao would still be a very good player if he was 5 inches shorter, but his height advantage is what makes him such a special player.
