Varejao?
Anyone interested in us trying to make a move for him in a sign and trade deal? Seems like he wants out of Cavs land no matter what. No way would i give him the 8-10 million that he supposedly wants, but i wouldnt mind giving him a deal slightly higher than the MLE. He seems like the kind of guy who would be perfect for the dunleavvy offense. If we have a dominating PF like brand, that negates kaman pretty much. Some might say oh well, but i maintain, why give a guy 50 million if we cant get our money's worth.
Varejao is a hustler, great rebounder, decent defender, and energy galore. Not sure if hes reached his potential yet either, hes only about a year older than thornton despite this being his 4th nba year.
Not sure how we would get him, perhaps mid season maggette trade (lebron would love that). Ultimate fantasy would be somehow doing a 3 way sign and trade after the year that included somehow brand to the cavs, varejao to us, larry hughes and maggette to washington, and arenas to us, along with draft picks being traded here and there. That, coupled with livvy coming back from injury and getting rose/mayo in the draft would give us a championship the next couple of years perhaps!
But i digres....bottom line is i think varejao, if he came down on his asking price, would be a good fit for this team this year, and in the future. Thoughts?
