Re: Varejao?

Well, its not about letting brand walk. Pretty much cavs have said they would match deals made to varejao whether he wants to stay or not, and so a sign and trade would be about the only option we can realistically get him. So if were trading for example brand for varejao and hughes or something, i wouldnt call that letting brand walk. Id say it would be a linear move.

Varejao was a 7 and 7 guy in limited minutes in an NBA finals team. For what our needs are in our offense, i think hes perfect, (for 6 million). I dont know of many others in the league, who could realistically sign for 6 million, that id rather have. Biedrens perhaps, but biedrins i think will go for at least 8 or 9. Haslem is also intriguing...but thats the kind of guy id like here long term. a relatively inexpensive younger guy (haslem, varejao) who we can count on for probably 11 and 7 a night, allowing kaman to do a lot of the work.
