Whats the best managerial game out there?
Football Manager is more or less considered the pinnacle of managerial games. It popularized (created too?) the genre as Championship Manager. Then EA bought it and turned it to ****, so the creators formed FM. 2008 has a different look to it, but it's still pretty similar to 2007. It's got this in-game feature explanation setup that will help beginners, but frustrate experienced players (I just turned it off).

I got hooked, then my board sold off my two best players at £50mill and £46mill since the offers were too good. Of course my team is stacked and I could get even more depth with that money so I'd prob still finish top of league and do well in Europe, but it pissed me off to no end.

I agree that pre-patch has some issues. Unfortunately, I haven't played the game with a patch yet since I acquired the game through some shady methods.
