Re: Game Thread, Bucks Vs Clippers, LA, Dec 4 FSN, bucks +2
I went to bed last night thinking no way the Bucks were coming back but I'm glad they proved me wrong!
Quote:
Michael Redd hit some big shots late and led Milwaukee with 25 points, with all but five coming in the second half. Corey Maggette scored 20 for the Clippers.
The score was tied, 64-64, going into the fourth quarter and two layups by Andrew Bogut were part of a 6-0 run that gave the Bucks a 72-67 lead with 6 minutes 28 seconds left. The Clippers rallied to take a 74-73 lead with 3:59 left on a three-point basket by Tim Thomas, but Redd answered with a three-pointer and the Bucks held on from there.
The Clippers gained the upper hand early, scoring nine straight points to take an 18-9 lead. After a layup by Bogut, Clippers center Chris Kaman hit a jumper and Thomas added two free throws for a 22-11 lead. The Clippers later stretched their lead to 26-14 but the Bucks then scored the final four points of the quarter.
The Clippers scored the first four points of the second quarter and again held a 12-point lead, 36-24, after three-pointers by Maggette and Cuttino Mobley. The Bucks later closed to within six but a layup and rebound-basket by Mobley were part of a 9-0 spurt late the quarter that helped Los Angeles to a 49-36 halftime lead.
The Bucks shot 35.9% in the first half, passed for only six assists and turned the ball over nine times. Maggette had 14 points at the break.
The Bucks began to heat up in the second half as Yi Jianlian, Mo Williams, Desmond Mason and Redd each hit a jumper in a 12-1 run that trimmed the Clippers' lead to 52-48 with 6:59 left in the third quarter. Mason converted a three-point play to cut the lead to 56-53 lead with 3:32 left but Maggette answered with a three-point play 17 seconds later.
