2 good signs (for those who want to see the clips win a game in december)
Sure, lots of negatives lately...powell, davis, williams pretty much garbage. Mobley playing despite being handicapped. Thomas, maggette, ross stinking it up for big stretches of games, cassell being out, etc.
However, 2 nice things ive seen over the last few games.
1. Brevin Knight stepping it up. Hes not taking so long to put the ball into play anymore. Also he FINALLY is hitting some outside shots. Granted, he still cant hit a 3 pointer, but at least hes hitting from beyond 5 feet, which he didnt shows us the whole year, and in preseason. As many have mentioned, clippers need their PG to be somewhat of an outside threat. Knight will never be a 3 point shooter, but AT LEAST hes hitting some mid range shots. If im not mistaken in the last couple of weeks hes raised his FG% from around 20% to 40%. Good sign, especially if cassell will be hobbled.
2. Thornton finally seems to be transforming his game...something we mentioned will be necessary for him to get playing time and stay out of dunleavvys dog house. He doesnt seem to be chucking as bad as he used to...hes passing the ball in situations where he would have thrown up a terrible shot. Whether its a fluke, or perhaps whatever dunleavvy is telling him in practice is finally getting through, i dont know. But with his big improvements over the first month of the season, hopefully he can develop into a guy who can average at least 8 points for us the rest of the way, possibly more depending on if he can start outplaying patterson.
