great great post ST. the mental aspect overrides the physical (which still must not be overlooked of course). the vibrations of mental forces are the finest, and consequently, the most powerful in existence. if you watch kobe closely you notice how he will start firing and asserting his intensity and desire at crucial points in the third quarter, or to answer runs made by the other team, or just to give his team a lift when lethargic. this is opposed to other "stars" in the nba, who score just to score it seems like.

one of my favorite quotes from kobe: "I was telling them [teammates] to smell the blood. when you smell the blood, you go for the kill."

and when it comes to shaq, nobody is trying to have their head dunked on.

there need be more thought provoking topics like this on the board, instead of "lebron james vs michael jordan" type threads, where you know the end is destined for insanity.
