Re: Trade Deadline Less than a month away. What to do?
Snyder would like trade
Quote:
Forward/guard Kirk Snyder, who has played in only nine games this season, said his agent has told Rockets general manager Daryl Morey that he would welcome a trade, though he stopped short of asking to be dealt.
"It's been a really difficult situation," said Snyder, who is in the last season of his contract. "Obviously I'm not playing so I can't really show other teams what I'm about, what I truly have. It's going to take a team to take kind of a gamble. From a business perspective, I understand that."
"If any other team is interested, we'd have to look at it as the best situation for myself and my family."
Snyder's agent, Chris Emens, said "several teams" have expressed interest in Snyder, but that there is not an offer in place for him.
"Without question, Kirk is interested in exploring any opportunity to get on the court," Emens said. "It does not appear that an opportunity with Houston as it stands now would be realistic. It's safe to say Daryl and I have discussed opportunities Kirk can be traded. Kirk is interested in playing basketball in the NBA. If being traded is the means to accomplish that, he would welcome that."
"Kirk is in a tough situation. He loves the city of Houston, loves his teammates and wants to contribute. The powers that be have decided he is not in their plans."
Morey would not discuss specifics of trade talks.
"We still feel Kirk is somebody that can help us in the right situation," Morey said. "Obviously, he's out of the rotation at this point. We still believe in his ability and him as a player."
