Dallas evidently should have talked to George about the deal and see what his interests lie in going to New Jersey before it went public. If he stated he did not want to go to New Jersey, then the Mavericks and Nets could negotiate a deal without involving him. Like I said, the Mavs should be knocking themselves for not doing their due diligence.

the main point is that he asked to be traded to a team where he would get more playing time, which is what new jersey offers. dallas doesn't need to ask him where, because what he wanted was just playing time to butter up a new contract. plain and simple.
