Re: Is Detroit really 'the team to beat' in the East?
Experience matters. Realize that all the Championships are won by teams mainly made of veterans. Spurs, Kobe-Shaq Lakers, Detroit and Jordan Bulls.
But the way the Celtics are, with KG, Pierce, Ray with vets like Posey and Cassell, I'd say they'd be pretty good.
Detroit are still the team to beat because they are the team that has proven to be successful in the Playoffs and they are still near the top. You look at the other teams in the East, there's Toronto and Orlando with a first round exit. Last year's ECF Champs, you know how crap they are. Detroit is the team to beat. Spurs are the team to beat in the West.
They have PROVEN something.
For all you know the Celtics Big 3 could like choke in the regular season. That's why Dallas wasn't the team to beat last season. It's still San Antonio.
