Rockets #1 on NBA,ESPN, and SI
GO ROCKETS.
THIS IS A GREAT MOMENT FOR ALL ROCKETS FANS.
The 18-game winning streak, the defense that has sparked it (100.8 rating during the streak) and Tracy McGrady's newfound leadership ability has this author thinking the Rockets could win a series this year. Sunday's showdown with the Lakers (after three games that should take the streak to 21) could convince me even more, or change my mind.

So what was Houston's problem pre-streak? Guys like Hollinger and Bucher talking them up, apparently. Says our man Battier: "When you have everyone ... telling you how great you are, it makes your job tougher."

Tracy McGrady isn't the only reason they've been able to thrive without Yao. Alston has averaged 15.4 points and 7.0 assists during the streak while directing an offense nearly as free-flowing as one of Rick Adelman's old Kings squads.
